AI in Dentistry?
Mar 27, 2024Is there a place for artificial intelligence in dentistry today, especially in enhancing hospitality?
In my book, Treating People, Not Patients, I discuss the essence of connections, emphasizing the importance of people treating people—not just patients.
AI presents a new way to connect, yet it raises a very important question: Can it replace human connectivity?
As AI continues to evolve, with breakthroughs like Neuralink and the concept of the Singularity hinting at a future deeply intertwined with technology, I believe human contact remains irreplaceable.
Nearly 30 years ago, Ray Kurzweil predicted that by 2029, we would become inseparable from the internet and computers. Are we on that path? Perhaps, but this doesn't signify the end of human essence. Changes are inevitable, yet love and connection persist.
Predicting the future, as experts like Peter Diamandis suggest, is fraught with uncertainty beyond a few years. Until then, I am dedicated to enriching my patients' experiences in dentistry and life, fostering connections that truly matter. AI in dentistry? A tool, not a replacement for the human touch that defines our care and relationships.
